BRANDS & PEOPLE AT THE ÖGG FARM

A wild and romantic location in the Kaunertal valley and a lovingly restored cultural monument and location for our catalogue photo shoot: the Ögg-Hof. Formerly a mountain farm, today a location for seminars and holidays in a breathtaking natural setting.

We wanted to find out from Georg Praxmarer, tenth-generation owner of the farm, what drives him - and what a corporate outfit must be able to do for the pithy Tyrolean. It is 9 a.m. when we arrive at Ögg-Hof and are welcomed by Georg Praxmarer and his team. We marvel open-mouthed at the farmyard, the panorama and the free-range chickens.

DAIBER: Wow, how idyllic!
GEORG PRAXMARER: Yes; we live and work in this wonderful scenery. I couldn't imagine anything better. Ögg-Hof itself is more than 600 years old and it has been family-owned for more than 250 years. The oldest parts date back to 1371.

DAIBER: But there is running water, isn’t there?
GEORG PRAXMARER: (laughs) Yes, meanwhile. And WIFI. You need that today. But we don't have a television or radio in the whole house. It was restored to its original condition in 2017, but we didn't want to turn it into a museum. We wanted it to be inhabited again. Our idea was to make the farm available for seminars with overnight accommodation. It is a really great place of power because it is simply so unspoilt.

DAIBER: What kind of guests come to you?
GEORG PRAXMARER: The seminars are often for senior management or physiotherapists with their therapy group. They take place in autumn and spring. In summer we rent out the farm as a holiday home. These are mostly families with grown-up children. They meet at Ögg-Hof for their holidays. 

DAIBER: What do you value in your workwear?
GEORG PRAXMARER: First of all, it must be functional. And since we work with a lot of people every day, it needs to look a bit special. The quality and colour should also be right. Your workwear is not only functional, but also fashionable and great.

DAIBER: And how are the new outfits going down?
GEORG PRAXMARER:The combination of stylish and very practical is very good at work. My employees also wear the T-shirts and jackets in their free time. Hey, you work at Ögg-Hof, they have heard that a lot since you launched the new branding. My children and my wife are currently fighting over who gets which item.

DAIBER: Do you have a favourite style yourself?
GEORG PRAXMARER: Yes; the vest I am just wearing, JN768. I can wear it in the morning when the sun is shining and just wear a T-shirt underneath - and I'm still dressed super smart.

DAIBER: That’s right, it looks good on you. Final question: What motivates you?
GEORG PRAXMARER: It is particularly important to me to preserve this old tradition. I have travelled all over the world for work. But I have realised: Our region - so much is still true. And I believe that you can only appreciate that when you've been travelling.
